Grandma Alvey

Grandma Alvey (Matts grandma) has been moved to a hospice care center as of Monday. She doesnt want to fight anymore and is tired. As hard as it is for everyone, she is ready to go. We understand and respect her wishes. She has lived a long wonderful life. She has multiple masses in her stomach and they are almost positive it is cancer. She said she doesnt want any kind of treatment at all. They have taken her off of all of her medications.. blood pressure, coumadin, insulin, lasix, etc.. She has been mostly unresponsive the last two days with a couple whispers here and there. Today her respirations have slowed down. She is not hooked up to any kind of vital signs machine but I imagine her oxygen saturation is low. They are giving her morphine Q 1 hr.. At least she feels no pain, we hope. Some family in Portland (her son and grandkids) were coming to visit on the 12th but her son is already here (got here Sunday) and her grandkids and their families may be coming sooner. We had planned on having JJ and Alicia and their daughter stay with us, so we might be having them sooner now. Its no problem, Im excited to meet them but just not in these circumstances. I will keep this updated on how she is doing and what happens in the next couple of days. Matts poor family.. Chris passed away just a little over a month ago and now Grandma.. They are having such a hard time. Keep them in your prayers for me.. They are going to need all they can get. Thank you..

Oh that's so sad... I'm glad she's getting her wishes followed, but how horrible for Matt's family. *big hugs to you* and I hope everything goes smoothly and painlessly with her passing. :(
