Busy, busy, busy

I suck at this whole blog updating thing. I will do really good for a month and then not write again for over a month. Things are great as usual :). We were looking forward to fall so that things would calm down. But that has yet to happen. Not complaining or anything though, I enjoy doing things.

The first of this month, we had Kyrie sleepover. Nat needed us to watch her all day Saturday, so rather than get up early to meet up with them, we just had her stay the night. I was a little worried since this was her first time at our new house. She did great though! We watched Milo and Otis and she LOVED it. When we went to bed, she kept saying, "whats the doggy's name" and one of us would answer "Otis", then "whats the kitty's name", again one of us would answer "Milo" and this went on for a good 20 minutes before she got bored and fell asleep haha. That next morning she made us put it back on. Too much Milo and Otis for me in one weekend! Heres Kyries 'good morning hair' haha it was crazy :)We took her to get her first real haircut!!! It was so cute :) She wasnt sure what to think of it at first. But she did such a good job and looked darling :)

Kyrie in the big chair (she looks so little in it haha)

Had to give her the binky to have her hold still.

And then the final product, cute little bangs and a little bob :) Uncle Matt bought her that little bow at the salon, hes so sweet

Last weekend was alot of fun too. Friday night I spent the evening quilting with my in-laws. Matts cousin, Erin, is getting married next month. Grandma Alvey had bought and intended to make Erin a quilt to put away until she got married. Unfortunately Grandma passed away before she could make it. So Pauline, Annie, Gayle, Kathy, Brylee and I all busted butt and finished it that night. Start to finish :) It was alot of fun. Erin's wedding is November 14 so we have a hotel room booked for that weekend so we can go to it. Her shower is up here at Kathys on Nov 7 so thats good.

My cousins Tawnya and Stephanie are both having babies in the next couple of months! I am very excited for them! This is Tawnyas first baby so her shower was also last weekend. I was late (was in Ogden and on our way home got STUCK in horrible traffic) and felt way bad about it, almost didnt go because I felt stupid. But it was alot of fun to see everyone :) My aunt Gina was there!! I hadnt seen her in a while and I am always happy to see her. She lives in Chicago and I dont get to see her much. I felt like I got close to her when I lived in Indiana. I stayed with her a couple of times and she would stop and see me whenever she would pass South Bend. One time she picked me up on her way to Pennsylvania, we took the 6 hour drive together, we saw the family together and then she took me back to school. That always meant alot to me that she was so good to me and still is. I sometimes feel bad when my biological family is so nice to me.. They didnt get to see me for 15 years and Im sure that upset them but they hold no grudges and are very good to me and my family. I am very lucky to have such amazing people in my life. I have 4 (wow) awesome families :) :) :)

That night, Saturday, Phyllis and Adam had a Halloween party! It was fun. I made chocolate cupcakes and made white chocolate cobwebs and put them on top. We dressed up and had a great time. Heres pics of our costumes! (I just bought a mask because my real costume I am wearing to other parties)

Matt is a Senor!!! Hahahah doesnt he look great. He just needed a bottle of tequila in one hand and a little silver fake gun in the other.

Heres my mask, that in my opinion, gave me quite an improved look!

Then Adam was a whoopie cushion! lol

I wish I would have got more pictures of peoples costumes but I didnt :( Oh well. Next time!

Cupcakes

This Friday Im throwing a Halloween Bash at our house!!!!!!!! Im so excited! :) My aunt Tina usually does the party but this year she was too busy so I offered to do it! Yay! I have so many ideas all set up and ready to go. I will take lots of pictures. Sounds like the whole Pinelle clan is coming except for A. Diana and her fam (Melissa and Brice are coming tho), and I havent heard back from Uncle Matt and Uncle Bob yet. Its going to be so fun!!!

These are some cute pictures of my dad putting Kyries shoes on. Her pants were inside out and he was fixing them. She wanted to wear her costume that day, so Nat put her in it. (Thats her costume from last year) Here, we are at my Grandma Langs nursing home visiting her. I met my dad and Kyrie there on my lunch break and spent some time with them. She loves her Papa sooo much!

My sis and I went to Gardner Village and Kyrie tried picking up all the pumpkins lol. Shes so funny!!

and to end this long blog, heres my newest watchband for halloween.

Have a fabulous Wednesday everyone!

Oh, my life is never boring!

The latest happening in our lives.. lol. So Matt comes into my work yesterday to get a cortisone injection in his hip. His hip hasnt been getting any better and he didnt get the injection last time because he wanted to try the stretches and avoid the shot if possible. Well, with it not resolving on its own, he decided to make an appt to come see Dr Gordon again. He came in at 4 pm and Dr G was running behind as usual so he got back in a room about 4:20. I went in with him and Dr Gordon proceeded to give him the shot.

Spinal needle is used to get deep in the joint, HORRIBLY long yucky needle!!

Matt was laying down on his side and sat up after it. They then started talking about the shoulder and they talked for 15-20 min about that and got surgery scheduled for Dec 21. Matt was doing fine, and Dr Gordon left the room and told him he could change back into his pants. Matt said he felt a little queasy so I told him to sit there a bit longer. I told Matt to change when he felt ready and I needed to run back up front and schedule a patient for an appointment. As I was at the front desk, we all heard a thump, a loud one.. We all looked at eachother and Denise was in the hallway and she said Matts door was shut and all the others were open. My boss Donna said 'was that Matt..', I said 'he was a little queasy but doing fine' and we all just ran to his room. He was passed out, unresponsive, in front of the door in the room. Jaclyn got there before me and shoved him out of the way so she could get in the room. She yelled his name and woke him up.. I got there just seconds later and he was sitting up and he had white stuff all over his hair. I was SICk to my stomach, I was freaking out. He was white as a ghost and green.. He said he had got his pants on and was going to leave the room and thats all he remembers! After Dr G did a head injury assessment and we felt he was okay, we looked at the wall and he had put a hole through it. Not a little hole, a big one and pushed in the sheetrock too lol. Then we all laughed about it after we realized he was okay. Poor Matt! So last night, after watching him like a HAWK and asking him a million times if his head hurt, dizzy, sick, tired, etc etc (anything head injury related) he touched his left shoulder, not the one that needs surgery, and he realized THATS what hit the wall the hardest. So he must have fell sideways, hit his shoulder, then his head and thats how he got drywall in his hair. Heres the wall after Matts appointment!

my grandmas comment

My grandma intended this to be a comment on my last post and It touched me so much, I wanted it to be on here...

Tami I wrote a message on your blog and because of some glitch it did not post, I just want to tell you that as I read it I had tears running down my face, that was as touching as "my hero", I had blocked out alot of what happened to my beautiful daughter, and you brought it all back. Believe me that is not a bad thing, I think we all need to realize just how quickly we can lose a loved one and all the petty bickering and bullcrap in the world does not matter. My heart hurts for you, your Mom, and I just never thought Natalie would get this damn gene. I love you all so much and If I could take this damn thing I would do it in a heartbeat, Just know that me and grandpa are grieving about this in our own way, we know we can't blame ourselves for what has happened to our family, but boy we sure wish things would have turned out differently, all we can do is love you all with all our hearts and that we sure do, Love your Grandma

Where did September go?

Wow this month has flown by! I cant believe its almost October! Oh well, just that much closer to Halloween :) This year I have a couple ideas of what Im going to dress up as.. just cant tell ya yet, it would ruin the fun. This weekend I got out all of my halloween decorations and decorated my house. I have cobwebs on everything, window clings, spiders hanging, etc. We painted pumpkins with my family and that was alot of fun. Kyrie painted her pumpkin (very colorful!) and then herself lol. Its non toxic, thank goodness.

Yeah I know we are bad for letting her but she painted her lower lip.. lol
Our Pumpkins!!! From left to right, Mom's, mine, Nats, and Kyries haha, shes such a good artist!

Speaking of the month of October.. It is Breast Cancer awareness month.. Im not sure if I've mentioned this before but I have an abundance of breast cancer in my family. My Aunt Diana is a breast cancer survivor. We have all become more aware and educated in breast cancer. Some of my grandpa's sisters died from breast cancer. It hit our family hard and fast... My Aunt had no idea.. they found it late in late stage 3, in July 2007. As a family, we never had to deal with anything as horrible as that. We were scared, worried, and uneducated.. She went through so much.. I cant even emphasize how much my poor aunt went through. She had chemotherapy, radiation, infections, more infections, was so sick.. it was so incredibly hard to see her like that. I saw a side of myself that I had never seen before.. I am a nurturing person and help people through things like that. But I couldnt go to the hospital.. I didnt go for weeks.. I couldnt do it. My husband kept asking me to go and Id have an excuse or I was sick and she was susceptible.. I avoided it. I hated myself for it. But I was selfish and didnt want to see her like that. I wasnt sure I could handle seeing her so vulnerable and ill.. After Matt telling me I had to go, we went to the hospital. We were leaving for Boston and he said I HAD to go.. the what if's while we were gone and such.. I lost it. I felt so guilty for staying away for my own selfish reasons.. I just cried into her shoulder.. I remember feeling the silk bandana on my face as I sobbed with her.. My Aunt needed me and my support. I felt so bad and glad Matt finally got me to go. It was hard for everyone.. But we have become so much stronger. We have learned ALOT! We are closer because of it. My Aunt Nana was tested for the BRCA genetic mutation. It is a mutation in a gene that some people carry and some dont. If one has it, it means they have an 84% chance of getting breast cancer by the time they are 70.. She tested positive for it. If a parent has a gene, their kids have a 50% chance of having it. My mom and Aunt Claire were tested for it. My aunt Claire was negative and My mom was positive. Since my mom was positive, my sister and I had to be tested.. we are both positive.. wheres that stupid 50% chance?.. I was hoping by me coming back positive, that it meant Nat wouldnt have it.. It scares me.. So now its all about prevention.. We cant stop breast cancer but we can be on the lookout alot more. Im only 25 and had my first mammogram Sept 17. Young for one of those huh? But it was fine, nothing to be alarmed about on it. Get to look forward to those yearly.. woo hoo haha I also have to get a MRI done every year to keep on top of it. Its worth it though. If Aunt Nana would have caught hers in an earlier stage, she wouldnt have went through HALF the crap she did. So luckily we can stay ahead of it and be on the lookout. My Aunt Nana is a brave, strong, courageous, beautiful woman and I look up to her for all she went through and that she managed to still put a smile on her face. She has been in remission for a year! :)

The workday is over. Always the best part of the day lol. Heres to a fabulous rest of the week!

Matts shoulder

Matt was hurt years back (7 to be exact) at work. He first hurt his shoulder while digging a grave for a baby when he worked at Larkin Mortuary. His employer sent him to a doctor but the doctor did nothing for him. Then they put him through physical therapy. A little while later, he was carrying a bucket on his shoulder and a door opened and pushed the bucket backwards and his arm/shoulder went with it. He had MRI's, xrays, surgery, etc then to fix it. 7 years later it still hurts him and he figured it was just because it was a bad injury. I work for orthopedic doctors and Ive been trying to get him in here to have them look at it to no avail. Last weekend we went four wheeling and afterwards his hip was hurting him real bad. He asked me to get him an appointment to have his hip looked at. Yesterday he came in and before he came, I told the doctor about his shoulder and had him ask Matt about it. After assessing him, Dr Gordon diagnosed him with bursitis of the hip (which is not real bad, he has to stretch it out and maybe get a cortisone injection) and had the MA do xrays on his shoulder. The doc was shocked to see that one of the bones in the shoulder was completely apart and has been for a long time.. It wasnt a break that was recent, had to have happened back then and it was missed. So the two bones have been rubbing together for years and causing him alot of pain! The doctor said 'no wonder youre shoulder has been hurting!".. Now he needs to get surgery and have screws put in and a bone graft to try and reattach them. Poor guy.. I feel bad hes been hurting all this time and it could have been taken care of by now! He wants to do it right before Christmas break so that he can take that time to recover from surgery and not miss a ton of work. I am now kinda babying him, saying 'I dont want you to help Nat and Rog with their backyard, I dont want you driving the four wheeler, etc' but he said hes done all that for 7 plus years with the pain, it isnt going to stop him now. I love my tough man :)

We are going to Salina this weekend to go four wheeling with my mom and dad. We have our room booked (its a suite, 2 bedroom so no we're not staying in the same room as my parents haha) and are heading down after work. I am excited. I LOVE my quad and we didnt get it out this year.. Last weekend and this weekend is it. I went to the store on my lunch and grabbed goodies, water, powerade and diet coke, the essentials hahaha. We are packed and ready to go once I am off work.

I am hypnotized by Greys Anatomy as usual. I bought Season 5 on Tuesday and have watched 7 of 24 episodes so far. I REALLY wanted to finish this season before Season 6 starts next Thurs! Argh! That means at this rate, we have to watch 4 and a half episodes each night, Mon- Thurs (before 8 pm) to be done hahaha! Yesterday we did watch four though, so maybe theres hope! And maybe watch a couple Sunday after we get home from our trip! Its possible!!!!!

Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL weekend :) :) :) Love you!

Its been so long since Ive really updated so I thought I would get around to it today, finally! I wanted to share these pictures of my grandpa, what a good man he is. We went on a family picnic to Copperton Park and played a fun game of baseball! We are no Red Sox but come pretty close haha. Here is my grandpa up to bat. We found that alot of our family have a lot of skill in this game, it was really fun! Uncle Rog hit a double, I hit a double, Grandpa, Matt, Tom, and others hit homers etc. Everyone, I mean everyone, played but my mom, A nana, A Claire and Grandma played!

Then after we were all pooped, Grandpa was just minding his own business, sitting in his patriotic chair, and my mom and Aunt Tina attacked him with toilet paper! He just sat there and let them do it. He just goes with the flow! I love my grandpa!
Matt riding Grandmas scooter lol. I think everyone took it for a ride, her poor battery was probably deadHeres a picture of me and Tori at the Blink 182 concert! Trust me, it wasnt empty, hence the seats behind us, it did fill up before they took the stage! :)

These are random pics of our vacation. We still havent put our pics on our computer, but these are all from my phone. What a great time we had! We wanna go back!!!!

Life is good.

Geeez i've been slacking. We finally got internet so I can post pics more now. Dave returned home from Iraq on Monday the 10th. It was so wonderful to have him home and safe. He was so happy to see his family and kids. I couldnt imagine being Teresa, what a strong woman. We have really enjoyed hanging out with them since he's been here. We have spent almost every night hanging with them because they leave to Georgia in a week and a half. They leave the same day we leave for Boston. Its going to be really sad to say goodbye.. I am way too close to the kids and Teresa for them to leave. Argh I hate long distance.. One extreme to another- first our neighbors then living 2500 miles away.

On the positive side, Our home is coming along more every day. I want to hang more decorations but that all has to wait. I am a crazy cake maker at the moment. I made PRs cake (seen below), going to make Kyries Birthday cake and cupcakes for her party Sat, going to make a (big) cake for Daves welcome home BBQ on Sat, and then have to make my cousin Nicks bday cake for Sun. I have to take half of Fri off to start them.

I am going to take a class this semester to get my x-ray license. I am excited but not. I always want to better myself and my education but Ive enjoyed being out of school for so long. No deadlines, stress, homework, tests, studying, finals, etc. Oh well, its only 1 class and 1 semester and will look great on my resume. My work is paying for me to take it which is awesome. Then I will be able to take x-rays when Im in the back. It will be good!

Matt is looking awesome. He has lost 30 pounds. I am trying to lose too but only down 8. Hes so strong and driven. I love my husband. Hes such a great guy :) Like today, he came into my work and brought us cookies and me a diet coke. He always does little things like that, that mean the most to me.

We are getting excited to go on our vacation!! Only 10 days to go!!!! I cant wait. We are flying into Manchester, New Hampshire. Oh what a beautiful place. Back east is so green and pretty. I LOVE the ocean. I cant wait to dip my toes in the freezing waters at Hampton Beach. We are going to visit all the family, go to Maine, Boston, Rhode Island and all over lol. It will be nice to get away!

Well enough blogging for one day. Back to work. Ciao!
